Joe & Vicki Price
joe_vicki

7:00PM & 9:00PM

Joe and Vicki Price catapult energetic country blues.  This is finger style guitar in the Elmore James/Muddy Waters tradition, a bit rough and tons of fun.

Joe has been performing his ruff and tumble blues for over 35 years; a one-man blues tornado who can pack, command and wring-out a dance-floor with the authority of an eight-piece show band.

Vicki Price is a distinctive, blues-belting guitarist who is as earthy, unique and seductive as a greenhouse orchid.  Her intuitive, swinging blues style, accuracy and lyrical, light-fingered touch are unmistakable

Joe Price was inducted into the Iowa Blues Hall of Fame in 2002, The Iowa Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007, and was a finalist in the International Blues Challenge 2006.   Joe was endorsed by the Samick Guitar Co. in 2007.  Joe and Vicki’s flamboyant, distinctive work on the Reso-Lectric guitars has earned them the endorsement of the National Reso-Phonic Guitar Company.

Trouble & Strife

ts8:00PM & 10:00PM

Trouble & Strife have been carrying the blues torch in Orangeville ever since forming in 1997. Larry Kurtz and Bruce Ley both make their homes in the beautiful hills surrounding Orangeville Ontario. It really comes out in their sound, the joy of the natural countryside resonates back to where the blues began in humble rural locations.

They are winners of the Canadian Independent Music Awards Blues Group of the year in 2007, as well as nominees at the Maple Blues Awards and Toronto Blues Society Talent Search finalists. Trouble & Strife have had the privilege to play onstage with or open for James Cotton, Lucky Peterson, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Willie "Big Eyes" Smith, Bob Stroger, Downchild Blues Band, Jack DeKeyzer, Fathead, Kenny "Blues Boss" Wayne, Jeff Healy's Blues Band, Mel Brown, Garrett Mason, Paul James, David Gogo, Little G Weevil and many more!

Danny Marks is the current holder of the Toronto Blues Society's Blues with a Feeling Award for lifetime achievement in music and broadcast.

This iconic rocker's roots go back to the sixties as a founding member of Capitol Records' group, Edward Bear. After a span as a journey man session musician throughout the seventies, Danny settled in to the club scene, establishing a cult following as a genre bender in music and humor.

A house band gig at Toronto's famed Albert's Hall led him to host his own nation-wide TV show, Stormy Monday. Through the eighties, Danny starred in CBC radio's hit series the Hum Line. Most recently, Danny Marks recorded two original music albums, Guitarchaeology and True, before paying tribute to Toronto's R&B roots with Big Town Boy in 2005.
